Vintage Silver Black Onyx Turquoise Victorian Style Bird Urn Statement Brooch

An incredible large vintage sterling silver Victorian style oval statement brooch. It features a decorative floral and leafy border set with turquoise stones around a central black onyx cabochon. It depicts a raised floral urn with two birds. The back has a locking pin back and is marked sterling Mexico. The imagery is reminiscent of Victorian mourning jewelry. I believe it was likely made sometime in the 1930's or 1940's.

It measures 2.25" tall and 2" across.

Condition: Patina consistent with age. There is a small chip to the onyx on the back in one of the spots where the decorative piece was attached.
