Vintage wooden mano figa
Vintage Wooden Brass Mano Figa Talisman Home Decor
An unusual large scale vintage wooden mano figa carved hand with a brass end cap, wire bracelet, brass finger nail and ring details. It has a loop at the top so you could add some ribbon and hang it on the wall. I believe it was likely made sometime in the 1970's.
Once seen as a slightly obscene gesture, the mano (hand) figa (fig) has also been used like an evil eye as a symbol of protection or good luck.
It measures 4.75" long and 1" across.
This gem was unearthed at a flea marked on the East Coast.
Condition: The brass band at the top is split in one section and was re-glued. The wire wrapped bracelet was likely glued at the top at one point, following the carved out groves on the arm but it is loose now.
