Antique Victorian silver tiger's eye ring
Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Tiger's Eye Ivy Statement Ring
A beautiful and unusual antique Victorian era sterling silver ring set with a large oval tiger's eye stone. The tiger's eye is extra flashy and has flashes running in two directions. The stone is brown as well as gray. The sides of the ring are set with an ivy leaf and the band is adjustable (it wraps around so the adjustable portion is hidden under the stone). The back of the stone setting is open to allow light to shine through. The band is marked sterling JJ Co.
In Victorian times ivy leaves were seen as a symbol of everlasting love, immortality and fidelity.
Tiger's Eye is a protection stone believed to promote courage and good luck.
It is currently a size 6 but the band is adjustable (best for size 5 -9).
The face of the ring measures 1" tall.
Condition: The stone has a slight wobble in the setting but appears secure. One prong has worn the stone under it ever so slightly. Patina consistent with age.
