Antique Metal Ship Nautical Matchbox Cover
An antique nautical metal match box cover done in brass with black accents. The front depicts a ship and the back a compass. It has writing scratched into it throughout which adds to its history. The spine says, "property of the" and the front says, "G. R Mck L." The back reads, "Dutch Essox Air Forces." The inner box is paper and is empty and ready for some fresh matches. The match strike paper has been replaced with a brand new one. I believe it was likely made around the 1940's or earlier.
It measures 1.75" long, just shy of 1.25" across and .5" thick. The inner box is 40mm long and 24mm across.
Condition: Light scuffing and writing on the box. The match strike has been replaced with a brand new one.
